Why a DPF can keep blocking
The filter may be carrying excessive soot or ash, but regeneration can also be prevented by pressure or temperature-sensor faults, EGR and airflow problems, engine-running faults, additive-system faults or unsuitable operating conditions. The vehicle history helps separate a one-off loading problem from a repeat cause.
What should be measured before regeneration
Relevant fault codes, calculated loading, differential pressure, exhaust temperatures and sensor plausibility should be reviewed alongside engine operating data. Wiring, hoses and components are tested where the evidence points. The exact checks depend on the vehicle and system fitted.
Cleaning, regeneration or repair?
A controlled regeneration or DPF cleaning may be appropriate when testing supports it. If another fault is preventing regeneration, that cause needs dealing with first. A damaged, unsuitable or excessively ash-loaded filter may require a different route. Engine Clean does not guarantee a cleaning cure before assessment.
When workshop work is needed
Suitable initial checks may be completed at the vehicle's location. Extended monitoring, component removal, cleaning, repairs or verification may require workshop time. Collection and delivery can be discussed where appropriate rather than promised before the vehicle is assessed.

Does a DPF warning mean the filter needs replacing?
No. The filter condition and the reason regeneration failed should be assessed before replacement is recommended.
Can you force a DPF regeneration?
Where the vehicle and evidence make it appropriate, regeneration can form part of the repair route. It is not carried out as a substitute for diagnosis.
Can you quote DPF work from the warning light alone?
No. Pricing depends on the vehicle, system, test findings and whether diagnosis, regeneration, cleaning, repair or replacement is required.
