Send the evidence you already have
A first enquiry can start with make, model and year plus the VIN, registration or a clear unit-label image. For removed units, ideal photographs show the label, both sides of the case and the connector pins straight on. Include the complaint, fault codes and tests already completed.
In-house technical routes
Depending on the unit, work can include power-supply testing, bench reading, EEPROM, flash and MCU work, cloning, coding, microscopic PCB inspection and component repair. Supported modules include ECU, BCM/BSI, TCU, clusters, immobilisers, steering modules, media units, trackers and selected SOS systems.
Clear safety and scope boundaries
ABS units are accepted for testing, but ABS repairs are not undertaken in-house. Airbag/SRS work can include testing, crash-data reset and appropriate new or donor-unit cloning or coding; Engine Clean does not undertake physical repairs to airbag modules because of their safety function.
Turnaround without invented promises
Initial inspection and diagnosis are aimed within 48 hours. The majority of straightforward cloning work is completed the same day. Electronic repairs normally take around one week, with a stated target of 5–10 business days depending on parts, damage and complexity.
Supplied units and warranty
Customer and trade supplied units are welcome, but fees may apply if a donor proves faulty or incompatible. Engine Clean cannot warranty customer-supplied parts—only its own work. Used parts supplied by Engine Clean carry three months' warranty and new supplied parts carry 12 months, subject to terms and exclusions including misuse and water damage.

Do you accept removed ECUs by post or in person?
Yes. Retail and trade customers can supply removed units. Contact Engine Clean first so the correct identification, packaging and evidence can be agreed.
How quickly is ECU cloning completed?
The majority of straightforward cloning jobs are completed the same day. Timing depends on compatibility, unit condition, access and current workload.
Do you repair ABS and airbag modules?
ABS modules are tested but not repaired in-house. Airbag/SRS services include testing, crash-data reset and suitable new or donor cloning or coding; physical airbag-module repairs are not undertaken.
